The avant-garde startups of the Basque Country to follow | 2022

Startup Basque Country

The Basque region plays on its many assets, its climate and its art of living to convince innovation to set up there. And it works ! In addition to the living environment, it is much easier to get noticed in a startup friendly environment that is growing than one that is saturated.

“We made the right choice, coming to the Basque Country, when everything was pushing us towards Toulouse and its aerospace industry. Here, Lynxter is visible: we have been able to raise funds and benefit from the unfailing support of local authorities and the Region, whereas elsewhere, in very large cities, we would have been drowned in the mass.”

-Thomas Batigne // One of the founders of Lynxter in the pages of Quotidien Sud Ouest

Lynxter

Lynxter was created by three friends who met at the national engineering school in Tarbes. During their studies in 2015, they embarked on the production of a 3D printer with a futuristic design. This printer, named S600D (sold for 25 euros), is distinguished by its versatility of usable materials; thermoplastic, elastomer or ceramic thanks to interchangeable tool heads.

After being spotted by the Airbus group, which placed a first order with them as soon as their company was created, the following is a success story.

Designed and assembled in Bayonne, the S600D is marketed to manufacturers, engineering schools, aeronautical and pharmaceutical groups or manufacturing service providers. Today, the Lynxter company has about thirty employees and should expand in particular to establish its international ambitions. A brand new 3 square meter building will house the company in early 500 on the Technocité site in Bayonne.

Butrfly

This start-up created in early 2018 on the Izarbel technology park in Bidart is now the first digitalized French platform for au pair stays.

The Butrfly agency organizes “au pair stays” for young people from all over the world in French families. Housed and fed, these young people have to take care of the children of their host family about 25 hours a week in exchange for a little pocket money. This concept of au pair stays is a way for them to perfect their knowledge of a foreign language and become familiar with a new culture.

Expateo

Having lived in several countries for professional reasons, Claire Pinatel imagined a new service inspired by her personal experience punctuated by moving and settling abroad. With two partners, she created the platform Expateo in Bidart in 2015 with the aim of saving valuable time for company employees so that they forget nothing during the administrative procedures inherent in international removals.

Today, Expateo is a human resources software publisher whose solution is used by large groups for the international mobility of their teams.

“The health crisis has accelerated our activity because our tool is adapted to the movements and repatriation of families. It also allows the organization of teleworking, remote staff management and assistance with tax and regulatory matters.”

-Claire Pinatel

Contracts have recently been signed with major French companies. Expateo's ambition is to increase its activity in France but also to develop internationally in 2023.

O'Plus Real Estate | Other real estate

The creation of'O'Plus Real Estate comes from the notoriety of the brand and the excellent reputation of Brocante O'Plus, present in Anglet for nearly 30 years and the desire to sweep up traditional real estate, to dust off methods and above all to refocus on human relations. Trust, respect and honesty are key values that are all too often flouted in this profession.

So, let us trust each other and come and present your project to us!
